WeWork Japan、 広島市と「HIROSHIMA Co-Creation HUB（ひろハブ）」を始動 ものづくり企業とスタートアップの共創を促進する第1回イベントを開催 広島市副市長、マツダ、カルビー、島屋らが登壇　/ WeWork Japan and Hiroshima City Launch “HIROSHIMA Co-Creation HUB (Hirohub)”

フレキシブルオフィス WeWork を日本国内で展開するWWJ株式会社（本社：東京都港区、代表取締役社長 兼 CEO：熊谷 慶太郎、以下「 WeWork Japan*1」）は、今年度広島市が実施する「企業間連携・スタートアップ支援推進事業」に採択されました。本事業の一環として、広島広域都市圏の企業と全国のスタートアップをつなぎ、新たな事業や共創機会の創出を目指すプロジェクト「HIROSHIMA Co-Creation HUB（ひろハブ）」を始動します。

第1回イベントとして、2026年9月28日（月）、広島商工会議所ビル内の「WeWork広島ショールーム」にて「ものづくり企業×スタートアップ 相互ピッチ＆共創ミートアップ」を開催しました。

第一部のセレモニーでは、WeWork Japan 代表取締役社長 兼 CEO 熊谷慶太郎が広島市との取り組みや今後の展望について紹介したほか、以下の登壇者より、広島の産業が持つ強みやスタートアップの技術・アイデアを掛け合わせることで生まれる新たな事業やイノベーションの可能性について語られました。

広島市は、ものづくり産業が盛んな地域特性を生かし、企業誘致やスタートアップ支援、企業間連携を通じたイノベーション創出を推進しています。一方 WeWork Japanは、全国の拠点運営を通じて培ってきたコミュニティ形成やオープンイノベーション創出のノウハウに加え、大企業、スタートアップ、自治体など多様な入居メンバーによるネットワークを有しています。こうした双方の目指す方向性が一致し、広島市とWeWork Japanは2025年12月にスタートアップ支援や企業誘致などの推進に関する連携協定を締結しました。*1

「HIROSHIMA Co-Creation HUB（ひろハブ）」は、この連携を具体的な共創へとつなげる取り組みです。広島広域都市圏の企業が持つ事業課題やアセットと、全国のスタートアップが持つ技術・アイデアをつなぎ、新たな事業創出や実証や継続的な企業間連携へ発展させることを目指します。WeWork Japanは、コミュニティを通じた企業同士の接点づくりや継続的なマッチングを行うことで、広島における共創エコシステムの形成を支援してまいります。

第1回イベントとなる「ものづくり企業×スタートアップ 相互ピッチ＆共創ミートアップ」では、広島を代表するものづくり企業であるマツダ株式会社、カルビー株式会社、株式会社島屋の3社が、自社の事業課題や新たに挑戦したいテーマについて発表しました。続いて、AI・DX・ヘルスケアなどの領域で事業を展開する株式会社VOLTMIND、株式会社ルートチーム、株式会社FiNC Technologiesの3社が、それぞれの技術やサービスを紹介しました。

企業側から課題やニーズを提示するだけでなく、スタートアップ側からも自社の強みやソリューションを発信する「相互ピッチ」形式とすることで、双方が互いの事業や可能性を理解する機会を創出しました。また、ピッチ終了後には参加者同士の交流機会を設け、今後の協業や実証実験、新たな事業創出につながる接点づくりを行いました。

「HIROSHIMA Co-Creation HUB（ひろハブ）」では、第1回イベントに続き、異なる領域や背景を持つ人々の出会いによる新たな挑戦や共創を支援します。

WeWork Japanは、広島市や地域の企業・団体との連携を深め、地域内外の人やアイデアがつながる機会を創出します。こうした取り組みを通じて、広島から新たな事業やイノベーションが生まれる環境づくりを推進してまいります。

今回のイベント会場となった「WeWork 広島ショールーム」は、2027年9月にオープン予定の「WeWork カミハチクロス広島」に先立ち開設しました。WeWorkの空間イメージを体験いただけるほか、地域の企業やスタートアップをはじめ、さまざまな人が集い交流するコミュニティの場として活用します。

WeWork Japanは、広島市との連携協定に加え、広島商工会議所にも入会しました。「ひろハブ」をはじめとするイベントやマッチングを通じ、2027年の本拠点オープン前から広島にコミュニティを育くんでいきます。将来的には「WeWork カミハチクロス広島」をその中核となる場へと発展させ、広島から全国、そして世界へとつながるオープンイノベーションの創出を目指します。

WWJ Corporation (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director, President and CEO: Keitaro Kumagai; hereinafter “WeWork Japan*1”), which operates the flexible office brand WeWork in Japan, has been selected to lead Hiroshima City’s fiscal 2026 “Enterprise Collaboration and Startup Support Project.”

As the cornerstone of this initiative, WeWork Japan is officially launching the HIROSHIMA Co-Creation HUB (Hirohub), a platform designed to connect companies in the greater Hiroshima area with startups nationwide to spark new business opportunities and sustainable co-creation.

To mark the launch, WeWork Japan hosted its inaugural event, the Interactive Pitch & Co-Creation Meetup: Manufacturing Enterprises × Startups, on September 28, 2026, at the WeWork Hiroshima Showroom located within the Hiroshima Chamber of Commerce and Industry Building.

During the opening ceremony, WeWork Japan’s President and CEO, Keitaro Kumagai, outlined the strategic vision for the Hiroshima City partnership. He was joined by prominent local and corporate leaders who discussed the powerful potential of combining Hiroshima’s robust manufacturing legacy with agile startup technologies.

Hiroshima City is actively driving regional innovation by attracting new businesses, supporting startups, and fostering corporate collaboration that leverages the region’s robust manufacturing legacy. WeWork Japan complements this mission with a proven track record in community building and open innovation, backed by a diverse national network of large corporations, startups, and local governments. Recognizing this strategic alignment, Hiroshima City and WeWork Japan signed a formal partnership agreement in December 2025 to accelerate these shared goals.*1

“HIROSHIMA Co-Creation HUB (Hirohub)” is the practical execution of this partnership, designed to transform shared objectives into actionable opportunities. The initiative actively connects the business challenges and physical assets of companies in the greater Hiroshima area with the cutting-edge technologies and ideas of startups nationwide. By facilitating continuous matchmaking through its extensive community, WeWork Japan aims to build a self-sustaining co-creation ecosystem that drives new business development and proof-of-concept (PoC) projects.

At the inaugural “Mutual Pitches and Co-Creation Meetup: Manufacturing Companies × Startups,” three prominent local manufacturers, Mazda Motor Corporation, Calbee, Inc., and Shimaya Co., Ltd., presented their current business challenges and targeted innovation themes. This was immediately followed by presentations from three forward-thinking startups, VOLTMIND Co., Ltd., Root Team Co., Ltd., and FiNC Technologies Inc., who showcased their specialized solutions across AI, digital transformation (DX), and healthcare.

By utilizing a “mutual pitch” format, the event moved beyond traditional one-way presentations, allowing both enterprises and startups to directly articulate their needs and strengths. This dynamic two-way dialogue deepened mutual understanding and seamlessly transitioned into a dedicated networking session, laying the essential groundwork for future collaborations, PoCs, and sustainable business creation.

Building on the success of its inaugural event, the “HIROSHIMA Co-Creation HUB (Hirohub)” will continue to serve as a catalyst for new ventures. By bringing together individuals from a wide array of industries and backgrounds, the initiative is designed to inspire fresh perspectives and drive ongoing, cross-sector co-creation.

The “WeWork Hiroshima Showroom,” which served as the venue for this inaugural event, was established as a strategic precursor to the highly anticipated opening of “WeWork Kamihachi X Hiroshima” in September 2027.

Beyond offering visitors a firsthand look at WeWork’s signature workspace design, the showroom functions as an active community hub where local enterprises, startups, and professionals from diverse backgrounds can organically gather and connect. To further cement its commitment to the local business ecosystem, WeWork Japan has not only partnered with Hiroshima City but has also officially joined the Hiroshima Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Through ongoing events and targeted matchmaking initiatives like Hirohub, WeWork Japan is actively cultivating a robust local network well before the launch of its full-scale location in 2027. Ultimately, WeWork Kamihachi X Hiroshima will serve as the physical heart of this growing community, driving open innovation that connects Hiroshima to the rest of Japan, and the world.
