SUBARUが「WeWork 渋谷スクランブルスクエア」に、 ソフトウェア開発拠点「SUBARU Lab」2拠点目を開設し、 2月26日にお披露目会を開催 / Subaru Bolsters Software Innovation with Second “SUBARU Lab” at WeWork Shibuaya Scramble Square, Celebrated with Launch Event

フレキシブルオフィス WeWork を日本国内で展開するWWJ株式会社（本社：東京都港区、代表取締役社長 兼 CEO：ユー・ジョニー・ジョン・ワン、以下「WeWork Japan*1」）の「WeWork 渋谷スクランブルスクエア」内に、株式会社SUBARU（本社：東京都渋谷区、代表取締役社長 CEO：大崎 篤、以下、「SUBARU」）は、AI開発拠点の「SUBARU Lab（スバルラボ）」をソフトウェア全般の開発へと広げるため、2025年2月より新たな拠点を開設しました。これを記念し、2025年2月26日（水）に、お披露目会が開催されました。

SUBARUは「2030年、死亡交通事故ゼロ」の実現を目指し*2、2020年12月にAIを活用したアイサイトや自動運転技術の研究開発拠点として「SUBARU Lab」を渋谷に設立しました。今回の WeWork における拠点拡張は、ソフトウェア領域を中心とした開発の加速、開発人財の採用の拡大、協業を見据えた他企業とのコミュニケーションの活性化、ならびにSUBARUらしい価値創造のさらなる強化を目的としています。

本イベントでは、SUBARU Labの新拠点を公開するとともに、これまでの協業やドライブアプリ開発の事例を通じてSUBARUが目指す価値づくりやソフトウェア開発の考え方を紹介することで、今後の事業展開の認知拡大を目指しました。

また、WeWork Japan とのトークセッションにおいて、WeWork のオフィスの利便性や柔軟性、データなどに基づいた交流を促す空間設計、企業間のコラボレーションを促進するイベント開催や全国に広がる拠点ネットワーク、オフィスDXについてなど、WeWork に入居することにおける期待について、意見交換を行いました。

WWJ Corp. (“WeWork Japan*1”), the operator of WeWork’s flexible office spaces in Japan, is pleased to announce that Subaru Corporation (“Subaru”) has opened a new base at WeWork Shibuya Scramble Square to expand its AI development base “SUBARU Lab” to encompass broader software development functions. To mark the occasion, an official unveiling ceremony was held on Wednesday, February 26, 2025.

In December 2020, Subaru established the “SUBARU Lab” in Shibuya, Tokyo, as a research and development base for further safety enhancement by integrating AI judgement capabilities into its “EyeSight” driver assist system to achieve “zero fatal road accidents in 2030”*2. The expansion at WeWork aims to accelerate software-focused development, expand recruitment of top-tier engineering talent, enhance communication with potential collaborators, and further strengthen Subaru’s unique value creation.

This event aimed to enhance awareness of future business development by unveiling the new SUBARU Lab location and showcasing Subaru’s approach to value creation and software development, highlighting past collaborations and advancements in drive application development.

In a talk session with WeWork Japan, the speakers exchanged views on the benefits of moving into a WeWork, discussing expectations such as the convenience and flexibility of WeWork locations, data-driven space design that fosters interaction, events that promote cross-company collaboration, the nationwide network, and office digital transformation (DX).

WeWork Japan will continue to support corporate growth and innovation while enhancing its flexible and dynamic workspace solutions.
