フレキシブルオフィス WeWork を日本国内で展開するWWJ株式会社（本社：東京都港区、代表取締役社長 兼 CEO：熊谷 慶太郎、以下「WeWork Japan*¹」）は、2026年9月、福岡市博多区の新たなランドマーク「西日本シティビル」の9階・10階に、福岡3拠点目となる「WeWork 博多」をオープンする予定です。

JR・新幹線・地下鉄が集結する「博多駅」に地下直結し、福岡空港へも抜群のアクセスを誇る本拠点は、「博多コネクティッド」のもと再開発が進む博多駅前エリアにおいて、人とビジネスがつながる新たなハブとなることを目指します。2025年8月にオープンした「天神ビッグバン」エリアの「WeWork 天神ブリッククロス」に続く拠点として、WeWork は福岡を代表する二大再開発エリアの双方に進出することとなります。

「WeWork 博多」は、自然光やオフィス緑化が広がる開放的なラウンジ、博多駅を望むことができる半屋外空間、アロマの導入に加え、現在建設中の明治公園に隣接するなど、心と身体を整えるウェルネス空間を備え、クリエイティビティやウェルビーイングが向上する次世代の働き方を提供します。またWeWork がビル共用ラウンジをプロデュースする「THE LOUNGE by WeWork」の空間の提供も予定しており、WeWork 入居メンバーおよびビルテナントが利用可能になります。

株式会社西日本シティ銀行および福岡地所株式会社が開発する「西日本シティビル」は、西日本シティ銀行保有ビルの連鎖的再開発の第一弾として、西日本シティ銀行の本店機能に加え、オフィスフロアや商業店舗を配置した複合ビルを計画しています。また、多様化するワークスタイルおよびウェルビーイングに配慮したハイグレードオフィスです。

デンマークを拠点に活動する国際的な建築デザイン事務所「3XN Architects」が内外装の洗練されたデザインを手掛ける国内初の建築物となります。駅前広場を中心に、周辺の商業エリアや公園と連続する公園・エリア一体型の都市環境を形成し、利便性の高い商業機能と公共性のあるオープンスペースが共存する、回遊性と賑わいに満ちた都市空間を実現します。

博多駅の活力と賑わいをさらに周辺につなげていく福岡市の施策「博多コネクティッド」を面的に促進する起爆剤となるとともに、福岡市が進める「都心の森１万本プロジェクト」や「Fukuoka Art Next」、「感染症対応シティ」などの取組みの実施や、約400人規模の音楽コンサートやセミナーなどに活用することができるホールを設置することで、博多駅周辺地区の国際競争力向上を目指しています。

「WeWork 博多」は、西日本シティビルのオフィスフロア9階・10階に位置し、博多駅前を一望する開放的なワークスペースを展開します。メインフロアとなる9階では、WeWorkがプロデュースするビル共用ラウンジ「THE LOUNGE by WeWork」を提供。

ラウンジの大きな窓を開放することで、屋内外がつながる半屋外空間はWeWork Japan 初となり、日常のワークスペースとしての利用に加え、大規模なイベントや交流の場としても活用可能です。さらに、同フロアには心身を整えるためのウェルネス空間を設置し、ヨガやリフレッシュなど多様なアクティビティに対応。仕事とリラックスを自然に切り替えられる、WeWork ならではの環境を提供します。ゆとりあるフロアと天井高の開放感、オフィス緑化や自然光を取り込む設計により、ウェルビーイングの向上を実現する空間デザインとなっています。

WWJ Corp. (“WeWork Japan*1”), the operator of WeWork’s flexible workspace business in Japan, today announced plans to open its third Fukuoka location, “WeWork Hakata,” in September 2026. The new workspace will occupy the 9th and 10th floors of the newly developed Nishi-Nippon City Building, a landmark project in Hakata Ward, Fukuoka City.

Directly connected underground to Hakata Station, one of Kyushu’s largest transportation hubs serving JR lines, the Shinkansen, and subway lines, and offering seamless access to Fukuoka Airport, WeWork Hakata is positioned to to become a new hub where people and businesses connect in the rapidly transforming Hakata Station area under the city-led redevelopment initiative, “Hakata Connected.”

Following the opening of WeWork Tenjin Brick Cross in August 2025 in the “Tenjin Big Bang” redevelopment area, WeWork will now establish a presence in both of Fukuoka’s flagship urban redevelopment districts, further strengthening its role in supporting innovation and business growth in the city.

WeWork Hakata will introduce next-generation workspaces designed to enhance both creativity and well-being. The space will feature an open lounge filled with natural light and greenery, a semi-outdoor terrace overlooking Hakata Station, aromatherapy elements, and immediate proximity to the newly developed Meiji Park. Together, these elements create a wellness-focused environment that supports productivity while nurturing mental and physical balance.

In addition, WeWork will design and operate the building’s shared lounge, “THE LOUNGE by WeWork.” which is available to WeWork members and building tenants. This space will be accessible not only to WeWork members but also to the wider community, enabling larger-scale events and fostering cross-sector interaction within the building and beyond.

The Nishi-Nippon City Building, developed by The Nishi-Nippon City Bank, Ltd. and Fukuoka Jisho Co., Ltd., represents the first phase of a series of redevelopment projects involving properties owned by Nishi-Nippon City Bank. The mixed-use complex will house the bank’s headquarters alongside high-grade office floors and commercial facilities.

Designed by internationally renowned Danish architectural firm 3XN Architects, the building marks the firm’s first completed project in Japan. Its refined interior and exterior design integrates commercial functions with public open spaces, creating a park-connected urban environment centered around Hakata Station Plaza. The development enhances walkability, vibrancy, and urban connectivity throughout the district.

Serving as a catalyst for the city’s “Hakata Connected” initiative, aimed at strengthening the urban core and elevating international competitiveness, the project also supports major city programs including the “1 Million Trees for the City Center Project,” “Fukuoka Art Next,” and the “Infection-Resilient City” initiative. The building will also feature a multipurpose hall with capacity for approximately 400 guests, suitable for concerts, seminars, and public events.

Located on the 9th and 10th floors of the Nishi-Nippon City Building, WeWork Hakata will offer expansive views of Hakata Station and a spacious, open working environment.On the main 9th floor, WeWork will operate the building’s shared lounge space, “THE LOUNGE by WeWork.” This lounge seamlessly connects to a semi-outdoor terrace that opens directly from the WeWork lounge area, supporting everyday work use as well as large-scale networking events and gatherings.

The same floor will also feature a dedicated wellness space designed for activities such as yoga and relaxation, allowing members to transition naturally between focus and refreshment. Generous ceiling heights, abundant natural light, and integrated greenery will create a balanced environment that supports both concentration and collaboration.
