WeWork Japan、札幌市とスタートアップ支援に関する連携協定を締結

フレキシブルオフィス WeWork を日本国内で展開する WWJ株式会社（本社：東京都港区、代表取締役社長 兼 CEO：熊谷 慶太郎、以下「WeWork Japan*1」）は、札幌市と、2025年11月27日（木）に「スタートアップ支援に関する連携協定」を締結いたしました。

札幌市は、市内で進行中の再開発を契機としたスタートアップ向けオフィスやインキュベーション施設と連携し、それぞれが持つ強みや特色を活かして、都心部全体を一つの大きなスタートアップ拠点エリアとして形成することを目指しています。

WeWork Japanは、日本各地およびグローバルでフレキシブルオフィスを展開しており、令和８年５月に北海道初の拠点「WeWork THE VILLAGE SAPPORO」 をオープン予定です。同拠点は、札幌市の中心において、北海道の土壌を活かしたグローバルなオープンイノベーションの創造を牽引し、業界業種や企業の壁を越えたコミュニティ形成や、多くのコラボレーション創出を実現します。

札幌市が掲げるスタートアップ拠点エリア形成の構想に賛同し、WeWork Japan は、グローバルネットワークとコミュニティ運営の知見を生かし、札幌市とともにスタートアップ支援に取り組むための連携協定を締結します。

• 札幌・北海道への進出や実証実験等に関心のある企業の誘致に関すること
• スタートアップ・エコシステム構築及びスタートアップ人材育成拠点に関すること
•  その他、上記の目的達成のために必要と認める事項

• WeWork Japanの知見やコミュニティを活用したスタートアップへの成長機会の提供（マッチング支援、オープンイノベーション促進）
• WeWork Japanが有するネットワークを活用した道内進出や実証実験等に関心のある企業についての情報連携
• 札幌・北海道におけるスタートアップ・エコシステム構築に資する各種スタートアップイベント等における連携・協力  など

2026年4月に竣工を予定している札幌新築オフィスビル「THE VILLAGE SAPPORO」の、2階から4階の3フロアにおいて、「WeWork THE VILLAGE SAPPORO」を2026年5月にオープンする予定です。北海道に WeWork の拠点を開設するのは初めてとなり、これにより、国内8都市目の展開となります。

「THE VILLAGE SAPPORO」は、地下鉄「さっぽろ駅」徒歩2分、地下鉄「大通駅」徒歩4分、JR「札幌駅」徒歩6分で、チ・カ・ホ（札幌駅前通地下歩行空間）直結という好立地の新築オフィスビルです。事業コンセプトは「Power Link Village -つなぐ-」であり、「つなぐ」を創る、「つなぐ」を支えることになります。事業コンセプトを実現するための建築デザインにおいては、「Community Office」をコンセプトとしており、同オフィスビル内の2階のビル共用ラウンジを、 WeWork Japanがプロデュースする運びとなりました。

WWJ Corp. (“WeWork Japan*1”), the operator of WeWork’s flexible workspaces in Japan, announced that it has entered into a Partnership Agreement on Startup Support with Sapporo City.

Sapporo City is accelerating efforts to build a vibrant startup ecosystem as part of its ongoing urban redevelopment. By partnering with startup offices and incubation facilities, the city aims to turn its central district into a connected innovation hub linking talent, industry, and academia.

WeWork Japan, which operates flexible workspaces across Japan and globally, will open its first Hokkaido location, WeWork THE VILLAGE SAPPORO, in May 2026. Located in the heart of the city, the new workspace will become a catalyst for open innovation rooted in Hokkaido’s entrepreneurial spirit, fostering collaboration across sectors and connecting Sapporo’s startups with global opportunities.

Sharing Sapporo City’s vision for a world-class startup hub, WeWork Japan will leverage its global network and community expertise to jointly promote startup growth and innovation throughout the region.

Under this agreement, Sapporo City and WeWork Japan will work together to:

• Foster the creation and growth of startups in Sapporo and across Hokkaido
• Attract domestic and international companies interested in entering the region or conducting proof-of-concept projects
• Develop a thriving startup ecosystem and nurture entrepreneurial talent
• Collaborate on additional initiatives that advance the shared goals of this partnership

• Empowering startups through WeWork Japan’s global community and expertise, including business matching and open innovation programs
• Sharing information and opportunities with companies exploring expansion or pilot projects in Hokkaido
• Co-hosting startup events and programs to strengthen the region’s innovation ecosystem and connect local players with global networks

Scheduled for completion in April 2026 and opening in May 2026, WeWork THE VILLAGE SAPPORO will span three floors (2nd to 4th) of the newly built THE VILLAGE SAPPORO office complex.This will be WeWork’s first location in Hokkaido and its eighth city in Japan.

Located in the heart of Sapporo, just a two-minute walk from Sapporo Subway Station, four minutes from Odori Station, and six minutes from JR Sapporo Station, the building connects directly to the city’s underground pedestrian walkway (Chi-Ka-Ho), offering excellent accessibility.

Developed under the concept “Power Link Village – Connecting People and Ideas,” the facility is designed to cultivate meaningful connections across communities.As part of this project, WeWork Japan will design and operate the shared lounge on the 2nd floor, bringing its Community Office concept to life by fostering collaboration among tenants and the wider Sapporo community.
