フレキシブルオフィス WeWork を日本国内で展開するWWJ株式会社（本社：東京都港区、代表取締役社長 兼 CEO：ユー・ジョニー・ジョン・ワン、以下「WeWork Japan*¹」）は、いちご株式会社が2026年4月に竣工を予定している札幌新築オフィスビル「THE VILLAGE SAPPORO」の、2階から4階の3フロアにおいて、「WeWork THE VILLAGE SAPPORO」を2026年5月にオープンする予定です。北海道に WeWork の拠点を開設するのは初めてとなり、これにより、国内8都市目の展開となります。

札幌市は、人口約196万人を擁する北海道最大の都市であり、経済・文化の中心地として発展しています。近年、IT産業の振興に注力し、AIやXR、メタバース、Web3.0など先端技術を活用した新製品・サービスの開発支援や、補助金を通じて、市内IT企業の拡大や企業誘致を推進しています。 また、スタートアップ支援にも力を入れており、スタートアップの創出・育成やエコシステムの構築に取り組んでいます。

「THE VILLAGE SAPPORO」は、地下鉄「さっぽろ駅」徒歩2分、地下鉄「大通駅」徒歩4分、JR「札幌駅」徒歩6分で、チ・カ・ホ（札幌駅前通地下歩行空間）直結という好立地の新築オフィスビルです。事業コンセプトは「Power Link Village -つなぐ-」であり、「つなぐ」を創る、「つなぐ」を支えることになります。事業コンセプトを実現するための建築デザインにおいては、「Community Office」をコンセプトとしており、同オフィスビル内の2階のビル共用ラウンジを、 WeWork Japanがプロデュースする運びとなりました。

また、ソフトバンク株式会社と連携し、スマート化された最先端ビル設備や通信設備で、オフィスDXを加速し、現代の働き方に最適なオフィス環境を提供予定です。

本オフィスビルに WeWork の拠点を開設することで、「THE VILLAGE SAPPORO」のコンセプトの実現に大きく寄与してまいります。また、札幌市の中心において、北海道の土壌を活かしたグローバルなオープンイノベーション創造の牽引を目指し、業界業種や企業の壁を越えたコミュニティ形成や、多くのコラボレーション創出をしてまいります。

WWJ Corp. (“WeWork Japan^*1”), the operator of WeWork’s flexible office spaces in Japan, is proud to announce the planned opening of “WeWork THE VILLAGE SAPPORO” in May 2026. The new location will occupy the 2nd to 4th floors of “THE VILLAGE SAPPORO,” an innovative office building being developed by Ichigo, a Japanese sustainable infrastructure company and scheduled for completion in April 2026.

This will be the first-ever WeWork location in Hokkaido, expanding the brand’s presence to its 8th city in Japan.

In recent years, the city has prioritized the growth of its IT sector, attracting businesses and fostering innovation through subsidies and support for cutting-edge technologies such as AI, XR, the Metaverse, and Web 3.0. “THE VILLAGE SAPPORO” is a state-of-the-art office building ideally located just a 2 minute walk from Sapporo Subway Station, a 4 minute work from Odori Subway Station, and a 6 minute walk from JR Sapporo Station. It offers direct access to Chi-Ka-Ho (the Sapporo Ekimae-Dori Underground Walkway), making it highly accessible.

The building embodies the concept of “Power Link Village – Tsunagu (Connection),” reflecting a vision of fostering and supporting meaningful connections. It is thoughtfully designed to cultivate three key communities: within the office floors, among tenants, and with the surrounding area. Its architectural design brings to life the idea of “Community Office,” a space where collaboration and innovation flourish. As part of this vision, WeWork Japan will curate a vibrant shared lounge on the second floor, creating a hub for connection and creativity.

In partnership with SoftBank Corp.,the building will feature state-of-the-art smart facilities and advanced communication systems to accelerate office digital transformation (DX) and provide an office environment optimized for modern workstyles.

The establishment of a WeWork location in this office building will play a pivotal role in bringing the vision of “THE VILLAGE SAPPORO” to life. Leveraging Hokkaido’s rich culture, WeWork aims to establish a vibrant community in the heart of Sapporo—one that transcends industry boundaries, fosters global open innovation, and drives countless opportunities for collaboration.
